Extremely scarce, a proof aside from the signed and numbered edition of seven.Minor handling creases, an inherent rust spot in the paper just above the woman's head, but generally in very good condition.
A few trial proofs printed in white line on a black ground are known to exist but Physick was aware of neither the edition nor the proofs.
The nature of this print is such that Gill's personal file, given by Mary Gill to the V&A in 1952, contained no record of the subject. Its existence was first noted by the artist's brother in 1953.
