Lithograph with hand colouring c. 1845
Ref: Armelhault et Bocher 1709, ii/ii
A unique impression of the second state heightened in colour and a model for the colouring, probably by Gavarni himself. In the margins appears the inscription written in brush, Modèle, 11 Juin 1845 E Bouvenne. Bouvenne was presumably the printer supervising the colouring. The subject shows a woman in her nightdress surprised by an intruder with a knife. From the suite, Oeuvres Nouvelles de Garvarni.
In fine condition with fresh colours.
